Removal
1.
Shift the gear to "N".
2.
Remove the air cleaner assembly and air duct.
(Refer to Engine Mechnical System - "Air Cleaner")
3.
Remove the battery and battery tray.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")
4.
Remove the shift cable (B) from the bracket (C) after loosening a nut (A).

5.
Remove the knob & boots (A) by pulling the direction of arrow after removing the boots from the console upper cover.

6.
Remove the floor console assembly.
(Refer to Body “Floor Console”)
7.
Remove the air duct (A).

8.
Remove the shift cable (A) after snap pin.

9.
Remove the shift cable retainer (A) after loosening the nuts. Then, remove the shift cable by pulling it toward the vehicle interior.

Installation
1.
Check that the shift lever is placed in the "N" position.
2.
Install the shift cable retainer (A).
Tightening torque :
9.8 - 14.7 N·m (1.0 - 1.5 kgf·m, 7.2 - 10.8 lb·ft)

3.
Insert the snap pin after installing the shift cable (A).

  
Install the shift cable after checking the direction of projection to prevent wrong assembly.

Mind the installation direction of snap pin and install the snap pin with the hook facing upward.

4.
Install the air duct (A).

5.
Install the floor console assembly.
(Refer to Body “Floor Console”)
6.
Install the knob & boots (A) by pressing the direction of arrow after installing the boots to the console upper cover.

7.
Install the shift cable (B) to bracket (C) and then lightly tighten the nut (A).

  
The existing shift cable clip must be replaced with new one. (Do not reuse it.)
8.
Tighten the nut (A) to the specified torque after removing free play by pushing the shift cable (B) in the direction of the arrow.
Tightening torque :
9.8 - 14.7 N·m (1.0 - 1.5 kgf·m, 7.2 - 10.8 lb·ft)

9.
Install the battery and battery tray.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")
10.
Install the air cleaner assembly and air duct.
(Refer to Engine Mechnical System - "Air Cleaner")
