Removal
1.
Remove wheel nuts, wheel and tire (A) from hub.
Tightening torque:
107.9 - 127.5 N·m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf·m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb·ft)

  
Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the wheel & tire.
2.
By hammering on a chisel, unlock the driveshaft lock hub nut caulking.

  
If there is screw thread (A) on the end of the nut, unlock the caulking by using a chisel and then loosen the nut to prevent damaging driveshaft screw thread.

3.
Remove the caulking nut (A) from the front axle.
Tightening torque:
294.2 - 313.8 N·m (30.0 - 32.0 kgf·m, 217.0 - 231.5 lb·ft)

  
The driveshaft lock nut must be replaced with new one. When replacing the drive lock hub nut, use only the nut with screw thread (A) on the end.

Tighten the driveshaft lock hub nut to the specified tightening torque, and caulk by using a chisel and hammer.
If there are two key seats, perform on all two seats.
Caulking depth (A ) : 1.5 mm MIN. (0.0591 in)

4.
Remove the front brake caliper.
(Refer to Brake System - "Front disc brake")
5.
Loosen the speed wheel sensor bolt (B) and brake hose bracket bolt (A).
Tightening torque:
A : 8.8 - 13.7 N·m (0.9 -1.4 kgf·m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb·ft)
B : 6.9 - 10.8 N·m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf·m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb·ft)

6.
Loosen the pin and nut and then remove the tie rod end (A).
Tightening torque:
A : 34.3 - 44.1 N·m (3.5 -4.5 kgf·m, 25.3 - 32.5 lb·ft)

7.
Remove the tie rod end ball joint from the knuckle by using the SST (09568-34000).

  
When using SST, be careful not to damage the dust cover of lower arm ball joint.
Keep SST tied to the car as there is risk of injury when the SST is dropped while removing the lower arm ball joint.
Be sure to use SST when removing the lower arm ball joint as general tool such as lever may damage the peripheral parts.
8.
Loosen the pin (A), and then remove the lower arm nut (B).
Tightening torque:
98.0 - 117.6 N·m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf·m, 72.3 - 86.7 lb·ft)

9.
Remove the front lower arm from the front knuckle using the SST (0K545-A9100).
(1)
After removing bolts from the front knuckle, install and tighten the sub body bolt (A) .

(2)
Insert the sub body (B) between the front knuckle and the sub body bolt.
(3)
Tighten the bolt (C) sub body to broaden the gap of the front knuckle.

(4)
Install the safe wire (A).

  
Install a safe wire on the front strut to prevent dropping the SST and injuring technicians.
(5)
Install the main body (A) between the front strut and the lower arm.

(6)
To avoid the main body coming off, install a fixing clamp (A) beside the main body.

(7)
After installing the body (A), rotate the handle (B) clockwise until the clamp is fixed on the lower arm.

(8)
Tighten the main body bolt (A) slowly and remove the lower arm from the front knuckle.

10.
Loosen the screw (A), and then remove the brake disc.
Tightening torque:
4.9 - 5.8 N·m (0.5 - 0.6 kgf·m, 3.6 - 4.3 lb·ft)

11.
Loosen the strut mounting bolts (B) and then remove the hub and knuckle assembly from the strut assembly (A).
Tightening torque:
137.3 - 156.9 N·m (14.0 - 16.0 kgf·m, 101.3 - 115.7 lb·ft)

Disassembly
1.
Remove the hub assembly mounting bolts (A) from the knuckle (B).
Tightening torque:
78.4 - 98.0 N·m (8.0 - 10.0 kgf·m, 57.8 - 72.3 lb·ft)

2.
Remove the bolts (A) from the knuckle (B).

3.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Inspection
1.
Check the hub for cracks and the splines for wear.
2.
Check the brake disc for scoring and damage.
3.
Check the knuckle for cracks.
4.
Check the bearing for cracks or damage.
