Kia Sportage: Hood / Hood Latch Repair procedures

Replacement

1.	Remove the front bumper cover. (Refer to Front Bumper - "Front Bumper Cover")

2.	Disconnect the hood lower latch connector (A).

3.	Remove the air duct (A).

4.	Disconnect the hood latch connector (A).

Remove the hood lower latch assembly (A) after loosening the bolts.

Tightening torque :

7.8 - 11.8 N·m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf·m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb·ft)

Install in the reverse order of removal.

•	Make sure the hood latch release cable is connected properly.

•	Make sure the hood locks/unlocks and opens/closes properly.

•	Adjust the latch alignment.

Inspection • When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components. • ...
