Kia Sportage QL (2015-2026) Service Manual / Body Electrical System / Power Tailgate System / Anti-Pinch Strip Repair procedures

Removal

1.	Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

2.	Remove the tailgate upper trim. (Refer to Body - "Tailgate Trim")

3.	Remove the tailgate side trim. (Refer to Body - "Tailgate Trim")

4.	Disconnect the anti-pinch strip connector (A).

5.	Remove the anti-pinch strip (A) after removing the mounting clips.

Installation

1.	Install the power tailgate anti-pinch strip.

2.	Disconnect the power tailgate anti-pinch strip sensor connector.

3.	Install the tailgate side trim.

4.	Install the tailgate upper trim.

5.	Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.

Inspection
