Kia Sportage: Body Side Molding / Rear Spoiler Repair procedures

Put on gloves to protect your hands.

Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces
without marring the surface.

Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
|

| 1. |
Remove the tail gate upper trim.
(Refer to Tail Gate - "Tail Gate Trim")
|
| 2. |
Remove the anti-pinch strip.
(Refer to Body Electrical System - "Anti-Pinch Strip")
|
| 3. |
Disconnect the washer nozzle (A) and high mounted stop lamp connector
(B).

| 4. |
Remove the cap (A) and then loosen the rear spoiler mounting nuts (A).
|
Tightening torque :
5.9 - 6.4 N·m (0.6 - 0.65 kgf·m, 4.3 - 4.7 lb·ft)

Remove the rear spoiler (A).

Make sure the connector is connected properly.

Replace any damaged clips.
|
