Kia Sportage: Air conditioning System / Cluster Ionizer (DATC only) Description and operation

The cluster ionizer disinfects and decomposes bad smell from the air conditioner or air inflow. Also, it cleans the air inside the vehicle.

When the ignition is switched "ON", the ionizer runs "CLEAN" mode and then "ION" mode, switching between both modes.

In the "CLEAN" mode, the cluster ionizer generates negative ions and positive ions to help clean smells from the air.

In the "ION" mode, the cluster ionizer generates negative ions and cleans the air inside the vehicle.
