Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.

Remove the engine room under cover.
(Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")

| 3. |
For release the tension, turn the drive belt tensioner (A) counterclockwise
then remove the drive belt (B).
|
| 4. |
Disconnect the alternator connector (A).
|
| 5. |
Disconnect the alternator B-terminal cable (A) after loosening the mounting
nut.

| 6. |
Release the alternator mounting lower bolt (A).
|
| 7. |
Down the vehicle.
|
| 8. |
Disconnect the engine ground cable (A) after loosening the mounting
bolt.
|
| 9. |
Install the jack (A) under the edge of lower oil pan to support the
engine.
|
| 10. |
Remove the engine mounting support bracket (A) after loosening the mounting
bolt and nuts.
|
| 11. |
Remove the alternator mounting upper bolt (A).
|
| 12. |
Install the engine mounting support bracket (A).
|
| 13. |
Lift the vehicle.
|
| 14. |
Disconnect the compressor ECV connector, and then by loosening the mounting
bolts, widen the gap between the compressor (A) from the engine to remove
the alternator.

| 15. |
Down the vehicle.
|
| 16. |
Install the jack under the edge of lower oil pan to support the engine.
|
| 17. |
Remove the engine mounting support bracket (A) after loosening the mounting
bolt and nuts.
|
| 18. |
Remove the alternator mounting lower bolt (A).
|
| 19. |
Remove the alternator (A).
|
| Installation |
| 1. |
Install in the reverse order of removal.
