Removal

1.	Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.

2.	Remove the engine room under cover. (Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")

3.	For release the tension, turn the drive belt tensioner (A) counterclockwise then remove the drive belt (B).

4.	Disconnect the alternator connector (A).

Disconnect the alternator B-terminal cable (A) after loosening the mounting nut.

Alternator "B" terminal tightening nut:

9.8 - 11.8 N·m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf·m, 7.2 - 8.7 Ib·ft)

6.	Release the alternator mounting lower bolt (A).

7.	Down the vehicle.

Disconnect the engine ground cable (A) after loosening the mounting bolt.

Engine ground cable mounting bolt :

10.8 - 13.7 N·m (1.1 - 1.4 kgf·m, 8.0 - 10.0 lb·ft)

Install the jack (A) under the edge of lower oil pan to support the engine.

Put the rubber block between the jack and oil pan to avoid damaging the oil pan.

Remove the engine mounting support bracket (A) after loosening the mounting bolt and nuts.

Engine mounting support bracket mounting bolt / nut :

88.3 - 107.9 N·m (9.0 - 11.0 kgf·m, 65.1 - 79.6 lb·ft)

Remove the alternator mounting upper bolt (A).

Alternator mounting upper bolt:

49.0 - 63.7 N·m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf·m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb·ft)

Install the engine mounting support bracket (A).

Engine mounting support bracket mounting bolt / nut :

88.3 - 107.9 N·m (9.0 - 11.0 kgf·m, 65.1 - 79.6 lb·ft)

13.	Lift the vehicle.

14.	Disconnect the compressor ECV connector, and then by loosening the mounting bolts, widen the gap between the compressor (A) from the engine to remove the alternator.

15.	Down the vehicle.

Install the jack under the edge of lower oil pan to support the engine.

Put the rubber block between the jack and oil pan to avoid damaging the oil pan.

17.

Remove the engine mounting support bracket (A) after loosening the mounting bolt and nuts.

Engine mounting support bracket mounting bolt / nut :

88.3 - 107.9 N·m (9.0 - 11.0 kgf·m, 65.1 - 79.6 lb·ft)

18.

Remove the alternator mounting lower bolt (A).

Alternator mounting lower bolt:

49.0 - 63.7 N·m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf·m, 36.2 - 47.0 lb·ft)

19.	Remove the alternator (A).

Installation

1.	Install in the reverse order of removal.
