Removal and Installation
1.
Remove the engine cover.
(Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")
2.
Drain the engine coolant so its level is below water temperature control assembly.
(Refer to Cooling System - "Coolant")
3.
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - “Air Cleaner”)
4.
Remove the battery.
(Engine Electrical System - "Battery")
5.
Disconnect the wiring connectors and harness clamps and remove the connector brackets around the water temperature control assembly.

6.
Disconnect the radiator upper hose (A) and lower hose (B).

7.
Disconnect the heater hoses (A).

8.
Disconnect the throttle body coolant hoses (A) and the oil cooler hoses (B).

9.
Remove the water temperature control assembly (A) with the water inlet pipe.
Tightening torque :
Nut : 18.6 - 23.5 N·m (1.9 - 2.4 kgf·m, 13.7 - 17.4 lb·ft)
Bolt : 14.7 - 19.6 N·m (1.5 - 2.0 kgf·m, 10.8 - 14.5 lb·ft)

  
Install a new O-ring.
Clean surface on the O-ring and install the O-ring after wetting with water.
10.
Remove the water inlet pipe (A) from the water temperature control assembly.
Tightening torque :
9.8 - 11.8 N·m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf·m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb·ft)

11.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
12.
Fill the engine coolant.
(Refer to Cooling System - "Coolant")
13.
Start engine and check for leaks.
