Kia Sportage: Evaporative Emission Control System / Purge Control Solenoid Valve (PCSV) Repair procedures

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
|
2. |
Disconnect the PCSV connector.
|
3. |
Measure resistance between the PCSV terminals 1 and 2.
|
4. |
Check that the resistance is within the specification.
Specification: 22.0 - 26.0 Ω [20°C(68°F)]

1. |
Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-)
terminal.
|
2. |
Disconnect the purge control solenoid valve connector and vapor hoses.
|
3. |
Remove the purge control solenoid valve (A).

Install the component with the specified torques.
|
• |
Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped.
If the component has been dropped, inspect before installing.
|
• |
Use care to keep foreign material out of the valve.
|
|
1. |
Install in the reverse order of removal.
